We are delighted to share the news that Wales Online featured us on October 8th in an article titled "The historic police station transformed into a chic Japanese restaurant in the heart of a Welsh town."

Here's a summarized version of the article:

In the heart of Bridgend, my friend Steve Clarke and I embarked on a thrilling venture, fueled by our strong passion for the restaurant business. We transformed a historic police station into the trendy Gin & Sake Japanese restaurant, breathing new life into the former structure. This sleek, modern venue now competes effortlessly with stylish city restaurants, offering a diverse menu that includes traditional sushi, innovative dishes, and delightful vegan and vegetarian options. The restaurant boasts an inviting cocktail lounge, a stylish ambiance, and a vibrant interior adorned with Japanese artwork, promising a memorable dining experience.

Our project revolves around bringing a unique dining experience to Bridgend's thriving food scene. We are dedicated to supporting the local restaurant community and fostering a sense of togetherness in the area. The positive reviews pouring in on TripAdvisor have been incredibly gratifying, with patrons praising the delectable food and the restaurant's stunning decor. Despite having been open for just a few weeks, Gin & Sake has already left a significant mark on our town, and we're eagerly looking forward to becoming a cherished spot for food enthusiasts and cocktail lovers in Bridgend.

The grand opening of the brand new Gin & Sake restaurant and bar in Bridgend is now here. We are excited to give you a sneak preview of what’s going on behind the doors as we prepare.

Bridgend’s first Japanese restaurant will launch with a bang. It’s not just a restaurant, but also a venue for events, parties, working lunches, and relaxing evenings. We will be serving the finest cocktails and entertaining guests with top local musicians and entertainers.

Cocktails. Restaurant. Music.

We have designed everything from scratch, so over the next few blog posts we’ll be giving you a bit of a feel for the food you’ll be able to come and taste, the drinks available to enjoy, as well as a look at the décor, the ambience and atmosphere with which we’ll welcome you.

Last week we brought our new team in for the first time and had a whole day of training; on the menu, the venue layout, how we’ll work operationally and, most fun, a cocktail making training session! We have some specially-designed signature cocktails ready for you to try using carefully-selected botanical Gin and traditional Sake rice-wines.

Today, you can experience the taste of Japanese cuisine. Our specialist chef and his team have created a full menu with something for everyone. While Japanese cuisine is known for its meat and fish dishes, we also have vegetarian and vegan options.

For starters, we offer Gyozas, Tempura dishes, Miso soups, and Teriyaki plates. We also have some new and exciting dishes to try. Sushi is, of course, a major feature of our menu. We have an extensive range of options, including all your usual favorites like Sashimi, Nigiri, Maki, and Temaki. You can order individually, a few at a time, or we have large platters available for parties and events.

If sushi is not your thing, we also have Katsu curry, Udon noodle dishes, and fried rice options. For a healthier option, try our steaming hot Ramen broths or our salad bowls with sweet and spicy dressings. We will also be open for lunch, serving lighter options like steamed rice Donburi and Bento boxes. No matter your taste or experience with Japanese food, we guarantee that you will experience something new and authentic at Gin & Sake Restaurant & Bar.

We welcome you all to the Grand opening of he brand new Gin & Sake restaurant and bar in Bridgend.
